WC 2015 schedule to be out on July 30

Melbourne, July 29: The groups, fixtures and venues for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will be announced tomorrow simultaneously in Melbourne and Wellington, the organisers announced on Monday. The event will be broadcast Live in various countries (in India watch on Star Cricket from 5.30 AM).

World Cup Statistics

World Cup 2015 will be held in Australia and New Zealand. 14 teams will be seen in action. The exact dates will be revealed on Tuesday (July 30).

This is the second time Australia and New Zealand are hosting cricket's showpiece event. They had jointly hosted the World Cup in 1992 which was won by Pakistan.

India are the defending champions, having won in 2011 in Mumbai by defeating Sri Lanka.

ICC's Full Member countries have direct entry while Ireland recently became the first team from the qualifying stage to make it. Three more teams (Associate/Affiliate nations) will be known later.

The format of the tournament will see 14 teams split into two groups. The top four from each pool will make the quarter-finals.
