Melbourne, Aug 12: Former Australian left-arm paceman Nathan Bracken will contest national elections to be held next month, the bowler announced on Monday.
"I will be running as an independent for the seat of Dobell for the Election and Lawrie McKinna will run in Robertson as an independent," tweeted Bracken today. Lawrie McKinna is the local mayor of Gosford in New South Wales, and a former footballer and coach.
The 35-year-old Bracken will contest as an independent in the New South Wales seat of Dobell north of Sydney.
Bracken played 5 Tests and 116 One Day Internationals for Australia. He took 12 Test wickets and 174 ODI scalps.
