Shane Watson to captain Australia in tour match

Watson to lead Australia in tour match

London, Aug 16: Shane Watson has been named as Australia captain for the two-day tour match against England Lions starting from today in Northampton.

Regular skipper Michael Clarke and vice-captain Brad Haddin have both been rested. Peter Siddle, Jackson Bird, Ryan Harris and Chris Rogers will also be not part of this practice match.

England Lions will be led by left-handed batsman Eoin Morgan.

England have already won the Ashes series with an unassailable 3-0 lead. The fifth and final Test starts on August 21 at The Oval in London.


Australian XI: Shane Watson (captain), David Warner, Phil Hughes, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Matt Wade, Ed Cowan, James Faulkner, Ashton Agar, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon.

England Lions: Eoin Morgan (captain), Moeen Ali, Gary Ballance, Keith Barker, Jos Buttler, James Harris, Simon Kerrigan, Alex Lees, Liam Plunkett, Ben Stokes, Luke Wells.
