Singapore, Aug 23: India Under-23 team entered final of the ACC Emerging Teams Cup by defeating United Arab Emirates by 46 runs in the semi-final here on Friday. India will face Pakistan for the title on Sunday (August 25).
It was not a big total put on the board by Indian batsmen but the bowlers did the job at the Kallang Ground here. Manprit Juneja's 76 helped India to 208 all out in 49.5 overs.
New ball bowler Akshar Patel was the star as he took four wickets for 29 in 8.3 overs. His opening partner Sandeep Sharma and Baba Aparajith had two scalps apiece.
In reply, UAE were bowled out for 162 in 48.3 overs. India won by 46 runs. Suryakumar Yadav-led India bounced back from the shock defeat to Afghanistan on Thursday in their last league match.
In the other semi-final saw Pakistan U-23 registering a thrilling one-wicket win over Sri Lanka U-23. Pakistan successfully chased 231. Hammad Azam finished the match with a six on the fifth ball of the 49th over.
India hold edge over Pakistan as they had beaten them in the league stage.
