Mumbai, Sep 10: Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun made his Kanga League debut. His opening game was an average one for the Young Parsee Cricket Club.

Arjun Tendulkar scored just 1 run in his league debut on Sunday (September 8) and later claimed 1 wicket with his left-arm medium pace bowling.

Media outscore Sachin's son Arjun

Young Parsee Cricket Club played against United Cricket Club at Azad Maidan's Muslim United Cricket Club. But what is usually a routine league game for Mumbai, turned out to be a major media attraction as several photographers arrived at the venue to catch Junior Tendulkar in action, according to a report in "DNA".

"Arjun! Look here, Arjun!" the photographers cried, said the report.

Arjun's 11-ball stay at the wicket was ended when he was stumped of the bowling of offspinner Sanjay Solanki. In his bowling, his figures were 7-2-35-1.

Young Parsee Cricket Club declared at 202/9 and United CC made 156/6. Both got one point apiece from the match.

Rajesh Sanil, Arjun's coach, said: "Arjun is playing in an open age group. He is among the men now. This will make him more confident. He is a good package and is getting better by the day."

On Saturday (September 7), Sachin had requested the media not to put pressure on his son. But his plea has gone unheard with media following Arjun on his debut. This might continue to be the same.
