Bangalore, Sep 15: Captain Yuvraj Singh blasted an 89-ball 123 (8x4, 7x6) to power India A to a convincing 77-run victory over West Indies A in the first of the three-match one-day series here at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.

Yusuf Pathan too was among the rus with a hurricane 32-ball 70 (4x4, 6x6). Mandeep Singh contributed 67 (78 balls, 7x4, 1x6).
The match was reduced to 42 overs per side due to wet outfield from overnight rain. West Indies A won the toss and asked the hosts to bat. India A rode on the batting performances of Yuvraj, Pathan and Mandeep to post a mammoth 312/4 in 42 overs.
In reply, West Indies A were bowled out for 235 in 39.1 overs. They were never in control of this big chase. Sumit Narwal, R Vinay Kumar, Rahul Sharma and Pathan took two wickets apiece. Jaydev Unadkat had one scalp.
Yuvraj, who is aiming to make a comeback to the national side, showed he still has lot to offer. His blazing century today is a reminder to the selectors that he is ready to return. Pathan too showed what best he can do - being aggressive as a batsman.
The second one-dayer is at the same venue on September 17 (Tuesday).
