Bowlers give West Indies A lead against India A in Shimoga

Shimoga (Karnataka), Oct 4: Bowlers helped West Indies A take a 47-run first innings lead against India A on the third day of the unofficial 'Test' here on Friday.

At stumps, the visitors had extended their overall lead to 75 and have almost ensured that India A will have to settle for a draw with tomorrow being the final day of the match.

Bowlers give West Indies A lead

West Indies A will be happy with a draw and go into the third and final game of the series with a 1-0 lead. They had claimed the opener in Mysore.

In their second innings, West Indies A were 28/0 in 14 overs by the end of the day. Zaheer Khan bowled five overs, conceding six runs with 2 maidens.

Earlier, resuming at 191/3, India A's overnight batsmen VA Jagadeesh and Abhishek Nayar both missed out on centuries. Jagadeesh was bowled for 86 by fast bowler Miguel Cummins while Nayar departed for 89, trapped LBW by left-arm spinner Nikita Miller.

It was left to wicketkeeper-batsman Uday Kaul to take the team closer to the visitors' total. He remained unbeaten on 69. India A were bowled out for 359 in 131.1 overs.
