New Delhi, Oct 6: Sachin Tendulkar's final Twenty20 innings lasted just 13 balls and the Master Blaster scored 15 runs.
At the Feroz Shah Kotla here on Sunday night, Tendulkar hit two boundaries in a row but fell next ball to Shane Watson in the CLT20 final between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.
Tendulkar was given a guard of honour by his team-mates and also recieved a standing ovation from the capacity crowd. "Thank you", said Tendulkar to MI players as he headed back to the pavilion.
Just before he was dismissed, vintage Tendulkar was on view with a classy cover drive. But crowd was stunned into silence when Watson breached the Master's defence in the fifth over of the innings.
Former West Indian great Brian Lara described that cover drive from Tendulkar as "one of the best".
"The last scoring shot in T20 cricket from @sachin_rt was one of the best i have seen from the "Little Master" #legend," tweeted Lara immediately after he departed.
Tendulkar ended the CLT20 with 70 runs from five innings at an average of 14. His strike rate was 98.5. He scored 8 fours and two sixes in the entire tournament.
He started the tournament with 15 against Rajasthan Royals and had scores of 0 and 35. Today he bowed out fo T20 cricket with 15 from 13 balls (3x4).
