Karnataka's Sudhakar named manager of Team India for Australia series

Sudhakar Rao is Team India manager

Bangalore, Oct 9: Former India batsman R Sudhakar Rao has been appointed as the manager of the Indian team for the Australia series.

India and Australia will play one Twenty20 International and seven One Day Internationals starting from tomorrow in Rajkot with the T20.

"R Sudhakar Rao, Asst Secretary (Admin), Karnataka State Cricket Association, has been appointed Manager for the Indian team during the Australian team's tour of India," a media statement from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) said.

The 61-year-old Rao, played one ODI for India in 1976 against New Zealand in Auckland. He played 81 first-class matches for Karnataka scoring 4,014 runs and was one of the pillars of state's batting.

The series ends in Bangalore on November 2 with the seventh and final ODI.
