Mumbai, Oct 12: One of the reasons for Sachin Tendulkar requesting the BCCI to hold his 200th and final Test in Mumbai is for a special family member, a media report said on Saturday.
According to "The Times of India", Tendulkar sent in a request to the Indian cricket board for the match to be held in Mumbai so that his mother Rajni can make it to the ground and watch him play for the final time.
The report said Tendulkar's mom has never seen him play an international match. As she needs a wheelchair to move around, the Master Blaster wanted the final Test in Mumbai so that she can reach easily instead of travelling to another city. The BCCI has agreed to Tendulkar's wish.
On many occasions, including the 2011 World Cup final which India won, Tendulkar's wife and children have been at the stadium.
Tendulkar's 200th and final Test will be against West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium from November 14 to 18.
