Mumbai, Oct 21: Mumbai's wicketkeeper-batsman Aditya Tare created history in the Kanga League here on Sunday (October 20).
Tare hit a double hundred in the league. This is the first-ever double ton in the history of the league, according to a report published in "DNA" newspaper.
Tare, who plays for Mumbai and Mumbai Indians IPL franchise, achieved this record while playing for Victory Cricket Club against Fort Vijay in the 'A' Division (Police Shield) game.
At the Fort Vijay ground, Tare was 72 not out on Saturday. He resumed his innings on Sunday and scored 201, surpassing the previous best of 188. He broke a 41-year-old record of Gopal N Koli (New Hind SC), the report added.
"Wow! I had no idea my score is the highest in Kanga League history. I wanted to just keep batting, especially with the Ranji season round the corner," the 24-year-old Tare told "DNA".
