Bangalore, Oct 22: India paceman Ishant Sharma is facing a tough time on and off the field. After being hammered by Australian batsmen in the third One Day International, Ishant is now in the firing line of former cricketers and fans. The latest to join them is - Amul, the Indian dairy company.
Ishant was hit for 30 runs in one over by Australia batsman James Faulkner to snatch victory from India's hands in the third ODI on October 19 (Saturday) in Mohali. In three ODIs of the series, he has conceded 189 runs for two wickets with an economy rate of over seven. Despite his poor bowling, he has been retained for the remaining four ODIs of the series.
After that disappointing outing, the Delhi fast bowler has been the subject of innumerable jokes on the micro-blogging site Twitter. His name was trending for three days.
Amul has now come out with an advertisement, mocking the 25-year-old. The advertisement read: "Ishant, sharm hai kya?" (Ishant, aren't you ashamed?".
Amul's official Twitter handle (@Amul_coop) tweeted the ad on Tuesday, writing, "Amul Topical: Indian pacer's poor bowling". The tweet was retweeted more than 40 times with tweeple calling it "very funny" and "superb".
For some it was "not in the right spirit".
