With heavy rains in the city for four successive days, we could see a second consecutive washed out game on Saturday. The fourth ODI was called off due to rain in Ranchi on October 23 (Wednesday).
According to a report in "The Indian Express", both India and Australia teams were greeted by rain on Thursday (October 24) as they arrived in Bhubaneshwar from Ranchi. Cuttack is about 30 kilometres from Bhubaneshwar.
"It rained cats and dogs throughout the day on Thursday, disrupting life and flooding twin city Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. If that is not bad enough, the Met office have forecast more rains in the next 24 hours," the report said.
"It has rained heavily but the pitches are intact. We have covered all the three pitches at a width of about 30 feet," curator Pankaj Patnaik was quoted as saying in "Hindustan Times".
Australia lead the seven-match series 2-1. The sixth ODI is on October 29 in Nagpur and the seventh and final match in Bangalore on November 2.
