Chinnaswamy Stadium will become the leading venue in the country to have hosted maximum number of ODIs featuring the Indian team.
At the moment, Chinnaswamy Stadium and Kolkata's Eden Gardens are in joint top position having hosted Team India in 18 ODIs. Come Saturday, Bangalore will push Kolkata to second spot with its 19th 50-over international featuring India, reported local newspaper "Prajavani" on Tuesday.
The stadium has also hosted five other ODIs not involving India.
India's success rate is also high in Bangalore. Among 18 matches played here, they have won 12, which is the highest for the team compared to other grounds in the country.
The seventh and final ODI of the ongoing India-Australia series will be played in Bangalore. The visitors are leading 2-1 with the sixth ODI in Nagpur to be played tomorrow (October 30).
Karnataka State Cricket Association's (KSCA) secretary Javagal Srinath said it was a proud moment for Bangalore's stadium to claim the record.
Chinnaswamy Stadium hosted its first ODI on September 26, 1982. India played against Sri Lanka which the hosts won by six wickets.
