Kochi, Nov 21: Indian captain MS Dhoni lost his cool and had a heated argument with a journalist on the eve of the first One Day International against West Indies here, according to a newspaper report.
Dhoni and the Indian team are in Kochi for the first ODI against West Indies. The match is currently under way at the Nehru Stadium.
The incident involving Dhoni occurred on Wednesday (November 20), a day before the match.
According to a report in "Hindustan Times", Dhoni lost his cool when a journalist stopped him and asked the skipper to say a few words before he inaugurated the Sachin Tendulkar Pavilion at the stadium.
As Dhoni had to go for training with his team members, he was in a hurry to inaugurate the facility and head back to the ground. But Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) officials wanted him to speak after opening the pavilion.
The scribe, who is known to Dhoni, also agreed with KCA officials and wanted the wicketkeeper-batsman to speak. Dhoni did not oblige and an argument took place, the report said.
Dhoni was "upset" with the incident, the report added. Later, KCA officials played down the matter.
