Rohit is the leader among ODI batsmen with most runs this year while the bowling list is occupied by 'Sir' Jadeja.
Not long ago, Rohit and Jadeja were the subject of ridicule on social media. The pair was targeted by angry fans on Twitter. Now, the same two are winning praises from their critics.
The continuous failures of Rohit had earned him the tag of "Nohit" on Twitter. That is now the thing of the past. In the last one month, he has been in prolific form both in ODIs and Tests. He hit back-to-back centuries in his opening two Tests of his career against West Indies this month.
To add to that, Rohit has registered only the third ever double hundred in ODI history. He struck 209 against Australia in Bangalore on November 2.
At the moment, Rohit is on top with 1,143 ODI runs in this calendar year. He overtook Pakistan's Misbah-ul-Haq during his 72 yesterday. The right-hander from Mumbai has hit 2 tons and 8 fifties this year and averages 60.15 in 23 games.
Jadeja has so far claimed 49 wickets in 23 innings (29 matches) this year. He has bowled 259.3 overs and conceded 1,089 runs at an economy rate of 4.19. His best bowling this year is 5/36.
During the Kochi ODI, he took three wickets to move ahead of Pakistan offspinner Saeed Ajmal.
Rohit and Jadeja still have 5 more ODIs this year (2 Vs West Indies and 3 against South Africa). On current form, they should end the year as the leaders.
