New Pace Foundation in Bangalore

Bangalore, Nov 29: In two months time, Bangalore will be home to a unique fast bowling facility where pacemen can hone their skills under the expert guidance of world renowned coach Ian Pont.

"The Ultimate Pace Foundation" is set to be launched in Bangalore in January, 2014. This dream project is the result of coming together of Karnataka Institute of Cricket (KIOC) and Ian's Mavericks Cricket Institute (MCI). For Ian, "Speed is King."

KIOC director Irfan Sait is excited to unveil this Foundation in the heart of the city next year. There will be six camps in a year.

"We will open the facility on January 22, 2014 with world renowned coach Ian Pont training the fast bowlers," Irfan told ThatsCricket today.

Ian said, "India has not been renowned as a hot bed of fast bowling talent. However, I think it's simply a lack of understanding of what to do and how to do it. This is why The Ultimate Pace Foundation has been set up. Making players the best version of themselves is what the Foundation is all about. We have a formula, coaching methodology and specialist mindset we feel will work well."

"The Foundation is "pay & play". This means you can come and join at one of our choice of camps spread across 7 days, throughout the year - January, March, June, August, October and November," said Irfan.

"Dedicated staff led by Ian, are on hand to assist you and take you through a step by step process of improvement. 12 nets, turf and coir matting surfaces, advanced 3D all weather run ups for spikes, and full floodlit bays for night training, make this a perfect venue," Irfan explained.

Ian was Bangladesh national team's bowling coach during the 2011 World Cup and also coached Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Dhaka Gladiators. He has also worked with Haryana Ranji Trophy team. He has authored cricket books and played first-class cricket for Nottinghamshire and Essex.
