Mumbai, Nov 29: Former India batsman Vinod Kambli suffered a heart attack and has been admitted to the Lilavati Hospital here on Friday, according to reports.
According to media reports on Friday morning, Kambli was hospitalised in Mumbai. "He is in the intensive care unit and we are monitoring his medical parameters. He is stable and there is nothing to worry about, " Dr Narendra Trivedi, director at Lilavati hospital, was quoted as saying by "The Indian Express".
"Headlines Today" TV reported: "Vinod Kambli was driving from Chembur towards Bandra when he suffered a cardiac arrest. A lady police constable spotted Kambli and admitted him to the hospital. He is under observation."
The 42-year-old Kambli was recently upset that he was not invited by Sachin Tendulkar to his farewell party. Tendulkar retired from international cricket on November 16 after playing his 200th Test against West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium.
Kambli and Tendulkar, who were close friends since school days, have not been in good terms in the recent past.
The left-handed Kambli, who played 17 Tests and 104 One Day Internationals, was part of a TV expert panel during Tendulkar's farewell series.
