Pravin Tambe named in Mumbai Ranji Trophy squad

Mumbai, Dec 2: Pravin Tambe, the 42-year-old legspinner, who impressed in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been named in Mumbai's Ranji Trophy squad to face Jharkhand this week.

On Monday, the selectors picked Tambe in the 15-man squad which will be captained by Abhishek Nayar. Mumbai will play Jharkhand at the Wankhede Stadium from Decebmer 6 to 9.

Tambe won lot of fans with his bowling for the Rajasthan Royals franchise. He was among the wickets in IPL and the Champions League (CLT20) this year. Royals had reached the final of CLT20.

Even Royals' captain Rahul Dravid had praised Tambe's bowling. Tambe is yet to play a first-class game. He has featured in only eight Twenty20 matches, taking 13 wickets.
