Centurion, Dec 13: Indian batsmen found it tough against South African fast bowlers in the recently concluded ODI series. The visitors' batsmen took few blows on the body and a repeat of those scenes by the host broadcaster has upset coach Duncan Fletcher.
According to a report in "Mid Day" newspaper today, Fletcher summoned the host broadcaster "Supersport" director to the Indian dressing room and the Zimbabwean gave "his piece of mind" to him.
The report said, during the innings break of the washed out third ODI in Centurion on December 11, "Supersport" TV showed visuals of Virat Kohli being uncomfortable against pace in the first ODI in Johannesburg (December 5).
In that game, Kohli was hit on the ribs. After his dismissal, he was seen holding an ice-pack in the dressing room and also rehearsing a pull-shot. The host broadcaster played out these visuals which has reportedly irked the Indian team management.
The TV visuals package was shown under the title "Kohli - softened up", the report said. Kohli scored 31 in that match and in the second ODI, he fell for a duck.
The newspaper report quoted sources saying Fletcher summoned the TV director and "sought an explanation" and told him to "stick to cricketing visuals in future."
India lost the three-match ODI series 0-2. The two Test series begins in Johannesburg on December 18.
