Perth, Dec 16: Australia batsman George Bailey has equalled former West Indies captain Brian Lara's record during the fourth day of the third Ashes Test against England here at the WACA ground today.
Right-handed batsman Bailey smashed 28 runs in one over to match Lara's feat of most runs in an over in Test cricket.
Bailey blasted James Anderson for 3 sixes, 2 fours and a double on Monday to match Lara.
Lara had hit same number of runs off South African left-arm spinner Robin Peterson in Johannesburg in 2003.
Bailey was not out on 39 off 30 balls as Australia declared their second innings at 369/6, setting England a target of 504.
The 31-year-old Bailey is playing in only his third Test. Bailey started the over with a 4 and followed up with 6, 2, 4, 6 and 6.
