'Pleasant weather' greets Team India in New Zealand

Napier, Jan 13: Indian cricketers today arrived in New Zealand for the bilateral One Day International and Test series against the home team.

Team India, led by MS Dhoni, will first play five ODIs against the Kiws, starting from January 19 in Napier.

India batsman Virat Kohli tweeted today that they had landed in Napier and were greeted by "pleasant weather" and "great scenery".

"Napier welcomes us with pleasant weather and great scenery. Cant wait to get onto the field," wrote Kohli with a picture on his twitter page Monday.

The Indian team left Mumbai early on Sunday and after landing in Auckland, took a connecting flight to Napier.

An 'exhausted' Kohli at the Auckland airport, tweeted he was waiting to catch some sleep.

"Waiting in the lounge at the auckland airport to board another flight now to napier. Exhausted! Need to hit the sack," wrote Kohli.

The five ODIs will be followed by two Tests. First Test is in Auckland from February 6.

Test specialists Zaheer Khan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Umesh Yadav and Murali Vijay will join fly out of India later.

This is India's ninth visit to New Zealand for a bilateral contest and their first since 2008-09.
