Karnataka progressed to the title clash based on first-innings lead after their semi-final against Punjab ended in a draw. There was no play possible on the fifth and final day at the PCA Stadium due to rain.
The visitors had taken a 177-run lead on Tuesday and it was a foregone conclusion that they would be in the final after this with not much time left in the game.
Wednesday was just a formality for the players to complete the match. As it turned out, there was not a single ball bowled because of rain.
This is Karnataka's first final since 2009-10 in Mysore where they lost to Mumbai.
Maharashtra had defeated Bengal in the other semi-final.
Current Karnataka coaches J Arun Kumar and Mansur Ali Khan have a chance to make it a memorable double as they were previously part of the winning team as players.
Karnataka 447/5 in 146.1 overs (Karun Nair 151 not out, Amit Verma 114 not out, Harbhajan Singh 2/98) drew with Punjab 270.
