Hamilton, Jan 28: All-rounder Stuart Binny did father Roger Binny proud by making his One Day International debut for India today against New Zealand.


Stuart-Roger is only the third father-son duo to represent India in ODIs. The previous two pairs were Yograj-Yuvraj Singh and former India captain Sunil Gavaskar and son Rohan.

The 29-year-old Stuart has made it to the Indian team on the back of impressive performances in Ranji Trophy and Indian Premier League (IPL).

Stuart, a handy medium pacer and aggressive batsman, played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL. He has played 54 first-class matches for Karnataka.

Stuart's father Roger is currently a national selector. The 58-year-old Roger was part of India's 1983 World Cup team. He represented India in 72 ODIs and 27 Tests.

Sunil Gavaskar played for India in 108 ODIs while his son Rohan featured in 11.

Yuvraj's dad Yograj featured in 6 ODIs. Yuvraj has so far played 293 50-over internationals.
