On Friday, Karnataka end the day with a handsome lead of 169. By stumps they were 474/7 in 158 overs thanks to a century from opener KL Rahul.
Karnataka had started the day at 230/0 and in 90 over of play today, they have scored 244/7.
R Vinay Kumar (8) and Shreyas Gopal (9) will resume batting tomorrow.
Unless dramatic happens on Saturday and Sunday, there is very little hope for Maharashtra.

Opener Rahul hit a fine century as Karnataka took the first innings lead.
Rahul, who was 94 overnight, completed his 4th first-class hundred in the morning session. At lunch, Karnataka were 343/2 in 101 overs, a lead of 38.
The 21-year-old Rahul, on way to 131, completed 1,000 runs in the Ranji Trophy season. He has 1,004 runs in 16 innings with 3 hundreds and 4 fifties.
Maharashtra began the day well when Ganesh Satish was bowled by Chirag Khurana in the first over. Satish could not add to his 117 (212 balls, 16x4) from yesterday.
Uthappa, who had to retire hurt after being hit on left below yesterday, returned to bat at number three. He is batting on 70 with Manish Pandey on 11 not out at the break.
Uthappa was in an attacking mood. He has so far hit 10 boundaries and a six.
Rahul's 273-ball innings of 131 (13x4, 2x6) was ended by Shrikant Munde. The opener was caught by wicketkeeper Rohit Motwani.
