Hyderabad, Feb 2: Karnataka won their seventh Ranji Trophy by beating Maharashtra in the final on Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here.
The R Vinay Kumar-led team successfully chased down 157 to clinch victory in the last session of play on the fifth and final day.
During the course of their victorious Ranji Trophy campaign, Karnataka had 19 players representing them.
It was the triumph of youth for Karnataka. The oldest players in the line-up were of 29 years of age. Vinay and S Aravind are the oldest while Shreyas Gopal, who made his first-class debut this season, is the youngest at 20.
