Gurunath admits to 'friendly betting'

New Delhi, Mar 6: BCCI president N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan has admitted to 'friendly betting' in the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 6), according to a TV report.

On Thursday, "Times Now" news channel, quoting Meiyappan's interrogation report, said the former Chennai Super Kings official had admitted to friendly betting through Bollywood actor Vindu Dara Singh.

Last month, the Justice Mukul Mudgal probe committee found Meiyappan involved in betting and passing information about CSK team during last year's league.

Meiyappan, who was earlier "Team Principal" of CSK, was defended by Srinivasan as only an "enthusiast" and held no official position with the IPL team.
