Shahid Afridi plays record 378th ODI in Asia Cup final

Mirpur, Mar 8: All-rounder Shahid Afridi today equalled the record for most appearances for Pakistan in One Day Internationals by winning his 378th cap for the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka.


Afridi is now the joint highest capped ODI player for Pakistan with former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq. The 34-year-old all-rounder made his ODI debut in 1996 against Kenya.

Overall, Afridi is the joint fourth most capped ODI player in the history.

Former India captain and holder of several records, Sachin Tendulkar is the leader with 463 caps followed by Sri Lankans Sanath Jayasuriya (445) and Mahela Jayawardene (412).
