There was fixing in CLT20, claims Modi
London, Mar 24: Former IPL chairman Lalit Modi on Monday claimed that he has evidence to suggest there was "fixing" in the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) tournament.

Modi took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to make his claims of match-fixing in CLT20. In a series of tweets today, he slammed BCCI and ICC for not acting against fixing.

He claimed that players were "induced" by mafia with "gifts and monetary benefits" to get them "bow to their will".

"I've evidence to suggest there was fixing in the Champions League T20 and if the ICC don't bring it out in the public within a week," tweeted Modi.

In another tweet, he wrote "The evidence contains players' statements. My question is why hasn't the ICC made the evidence public yet? What are they waiting for?"

"Mafia first induces players with gifts and monetary benefits, then often resorts to intimidation to get players to bow to their ill will," was another of Modi's tweets.

He went on to claim, "The ICC has evidence against various players being involved in fixing during the Champions League and other forms of global cricket."

IPL 6 was rocked by fixing and betting controversies. Former Chennai Super Kings official and BCCI chief N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was found guilty of betting by Justice Mukul Mudgal Committee recently.
