Bangalore, Apr 30: The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) today announced a slew of initiatives aimed at giving fans an unmatched viewing experience at the team's upcoming home matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore as the Pepsi IPL, 2014 comes back to India for the final leg.

RCB will be providing free Wi-Fi connectivity for all fans at Chinnaswamy Stadium on all days when the home team is playing in Bangalore, a media release from the franchise said today.

Free Wi-Fi for RCB fans at Bangalore

"RCB becomes the first IPL team and the first cricket team in the world to offer free Wi-Fi connectivity for fans at a stadium using a customised network of specially laid fibre-optic cables. The 34,000 fans, who are expected to pack the stadium on match days, will now be able to avail of seamless internet connectivity using any of the 50 Wi-Fi access points across the entire stadium," the release added.

To access the network, fans will have to simply register on the network by providing their name and phone number and a one-time password will be generated and sent to the registered number and the fan will be able to log in and use the Wi-Fi network right away.

Commenting on this latest initiative, Russell Adams, Vice President-Commercial, Operations & Cricket Academy, Royal Challengers Bangalore commented, "RCB believes in putting the "Fan First" and this is another initiative to give the fan a premium lifestyle experience. The RCB fan has always been tech-savvy and very active on social networks. While watching a match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, a fan wants to share content with rest of the world and announce on social media that he or she is part of the RCB experience. The idea is to keep the fans connected with the world in a Wi-Fi enabled stadium."

Moreover, the fans will be able to feel the "RCB Experience" even before entering the Chinnaswamy Stadium. A set of 50 "Ask Me Anything" volunteers will be deployed at a distance of 30 feet each on the roads leading to the stadium on each of match-days to guide, advise and direct fans about:

# The way to the specific stands in the stadium

# Parking facilities around the stadium

# Ticketing and redemption

# Various dos and don'ts

# Security Protocol

# Food & Merchandise Stalls

# Medical Emergency

Adams added, "RCB has an extremely strong bond with its fans and we always try to make it a memorable experience for them to come and watch their favourite team play at the Chinnaswamy stadium. So, we've trained this group of volunteers to step up and act as the guiding force for the legion of RCB fans. They will remain at their designated locations until an hour after the completion of the match for helping the fans."
