London, May 12: Cardiff has been chosen as the venue for next year's first Ashes Test between England and Australia. The first of the five Tests begins on July 8 as the hosts aim to reclaim the most famous urn in world cricket.
Australia's tour of England starts on July 1 with a four-day game against Kent in Canterbury. The full schedule of the tour was announced by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today.
Cardiff had hosted the inaugural Ashes Test in 2009 which ended in a nail-biting draw on the final day with England's last pair Monty Panesar and James Anderson frustrating the visitors.
The other four Test venues of 2015 Ashes tour are Lords, Edgbaston, Trent Bridge and The Oval. Australia will also play a One Day International against Ireland (venue to be decided), one Twenty20 International and five ODIs against England. The tour ends on September 13.
Australia won the last Ashes series 5-0 earlier this year at home.
