Faf du Plessis 'experiences' earthquake
Ranchi, May 22: Chennai Super Kings' South African batsman Faf du Plessis was one of the many in Ranchi to have shaken by mild tremors on Wednesday night (May 21).

Many places in the country, including Ranchi experienced mild tremors as a result of an earthquake measuring 6.0 magnitude on the Richter scale in the Bay of Bengal last night.

"The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.0 on the Richter scale and its epicentre was in the Bay of Bengal," said an official of the India Meteorological Department in Delhi.

CSK team is Ranchi to play their IPL 7 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday (May 22).

At 11.57 PM on Wednesday, Du Plessis took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to describe his "unreal" experience.

"Oh my word.just experienced my 1st earthquake.unreal.thought someone turned out room on vibrate mode. #ranchi #earthquake," the batsman wrote on his Twitter page.

People felt the tremors in Delhi too, according to IANS news agency. "Tremors were felt in Odisha and some districts of West Bengal," the official added.

In Chennai, people came out of their homes in areas like Adyar, Porur, Kodambakkam, Triplicane, T. Nagar and Nungambakkam, IANS reported.
