Mohali, May 22: It took 48 matches to witness the first century of IPL 7. Mumbai Indians' West Indian opener Lendl Simmons last night became the first batsman this season to touch the three-figure mark. This was the 29th century in IPL history.

IPL's first ever ton came in its first game itself when Kolkata Knight Riders' Brendon McCullum blasted an unbeaten 158 against Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on April 18, 2008. Chris Gayle holds the record for the highest individual score - with 175 not out for RCB against Pune Warriors in 2013.
