London, July 6: Yuvraj Singh, after taking the "blessings" from "God of cricket" Sachin Tendulkar, smashed a century for Rest of the World against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) on Saturday (July 5).

It was a rare sight on the cricket field when a player touched Tendulkar's feet. There have been many fans touching the cricket icon's feet but maybe it was the first in the game's history that a player sought the "blessings" of another one during a match.

Tendulkar was in the opposition and he came on to bowl to Yuvraj. After playing him with respect, the left-hander walked upto Tendulkar and bowed down to take his "blessings".

Yuvraj has always considered Tendulkar as his idol and during the 2011 World Cup, which India won, had said he played the World Cup for a "special person" and after the tournament, he revealed that it was Tendulkar.

It was also a coincidence that in the MCC-ROW match, Yuvraj reached his century off Tendulkar's bowling. He hit the Master Blaster for a boundary to complete the milestone. However, Tendulkar picked up Yuvraj's wicket later, in the 49th over.

Despite Yuvraj's 134-ball 132, ROW lost to MCC by 7 wickets. His three-figure mark was overshadowed by MCC's Australian batsman Aaron Finch, who blasted an unbeaten 181 off 145 balls.

The match was organised to celebrate the 200th birthday of Lord's Cricket Ground.
