No spinner has legitimate action: Bedi

New Delhi, July 23: Former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi today said there is no spinner in the world who has a "legitimate action".

Bedi, who has always criticised the ICC's 15 degrees rule for spinners, said the slow bowlers have been "destroyed" by T20s and ODIs.

Today, ICC has suspended New Zeland's part-time offspinner Kane Williamson from bowling due to an illegal bowling action. Also recently, another offspinnner Sachithra Senanayake of Sri Lanka too was banned due to suspect action.

"The game is devoid of a single genuine spinner. There is no spinner in the world who has a legitimate action. There is not a single spinner on the horizon and its all because of the stupid limited-overs game," Bedi told PTI.

"The spinners mentality has been destroyed by the T20s and ODIs. They more concerned about dot balls and not thinking about taking wickets and that is destroying their psyche," he added.
