Mumbai, Aug 1: Wicketkeeper-batsman Naman Ojha will join the Indian squad in England for the remainder of the Test series, BCCI has announced.
Ojha has been named in place of the injured stumper Wriddhiman Saha. Ojha had a great 'A' tour to Australia recently where he hit three centuries including a double ton in two first-class games.
"Wriddhiman Saha has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing Test series between India and England, due to injury," BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said in a media release yesterday (July 31).
"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked Naman Ojha as his replacement. Ojha will join the squad at the earliest," he added.
There was no mention of what injury Saha is carrying and how it happened. Saha did not play any of the first three Tests in England.
The fourth Test starts on August 7 (Thursday) in Manchester.
The five-match series is currently tied at 1-1 after England won the third Test by 266 runs yesterday.
