Stuart Broad to undergo knee surgery

London, Aug 21: England pacer Stuart Broad will be undergoing knee surgery next month ahead of the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in a statement Wednesday said Broad, who suffered a broken nose in the fourth Test against India, will undergo the operation September 4 to cure a long-standing tendonitis problem.

"The ECB medical team confirmed that England pace bowler Stuart Broad is to have surgery on his right knee on Thursday 4 September," the ECB said in a statement.

"A rehabilitation and recovery program will be determined following the operation," the statement added.
