Yesterday (August 26), Tuskers' owners had said Uthappa was undergoing rehab for a knee injury, casting doubts over his participation in KPL. However, Uthappa has today confirmed his availability.
KPL begins in Mysore tomorrow. However, Tuskers play their first match on August 30 against Belagavi Panthers. Their second game is against Rockstars the next day (August 31).
"There is no injury. It is just a niggle. I will be playing from September 3," Uthappa told Thatscricket on Wednesday.
Uthappa is the costliest player in KPL, having fetched a price of Rs 5.3 lakhs from Tuskers.
This is also good news for Kolkata Knight Riders team as well as the wicketkeeper-batsman will be seen in action next month in the Champions League T20 (CLT20).
