Tigers will begin their campaign on Friday (August 29) with a game against Mysore Warriors. KPL has seven teams in the fray.
Captain Akhil said they are the best fielding side in the league and that would give them edge over their rivals. The skipper also vowed to play a ruthless cricket.
"We are the best fielding side in the competition. This will help us go all the way to the title. Our motto is to play ruthless cricket," the right-handed all-rounder Akhil said.
Viswanath called upon all players to play hard but fair on the ground. He told them not to have any ugly incidents on the field which were becoming a common sight in international cricket in recent times.
"Play hard but I don't want to see any ugly incidents on the ground. I wish Hubli Tigers all the best," Viswanath said.
"All our players are extremely enthusiastic and motivated to play for the Hubli Tigers team and have been giving their best in all the practice sessions. We are extremely confident to put up a great show in the tournament and are confident of winning the cup" said Sushil Jindal.
KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel saw lot of energy in the Tigers. "I see a lot of energy in the team. May be it is because of Anand Sweets," Patel joked.
Tigers will don dark blue jerseys in the league. One of their star batsmen is KL Rahul, who was part of Karnataka's hat-trick title triumphs (Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup and Vijay Hazare Trophy) last season. Wicketkeeper-batsman CM Gautam, also part of Karnataka's three successes, is the mentor of the team. Sanath Kumar is the coach.
