Mysore, Sep 3: Paceman Vyshak Vijay Kumar, the youngest player in the Karbonn Smart Karnataka Premier League 2014 (KPL), took 4/21 on debut to bowl Mysore Warriors to a record 10-wicket victory over Rockstars here today.
The 17-year-old Vyshak, who shared the new ball with Aditya Sagar, took four wickets for 21 runs in 3.5 overs as Rockstars were bundled out for 94 in 19.5 overs. At one stage they were tottering at 24/5 in 8.2 overs. Sagar too was impressive, giving just 8 runs in his 4 overs.
In reply, the Warriors romped home by 10 wickets, knocking off the required runs in 10 overs. This is the biggest margin of victory in KPL history, both in terms of wickets and balls remaining (60). The previous best were 8 wickets and 38 balls to spare.
This was Rockstars fourth successive loss and they are out of reckoning for semi-finals with two games in hand. The top four qualify for the semi-finals. This was second win for Warriors in three games.
The action now shifts to Bangalore after a day's break.
