Kohli surpasses Yuvraj to claim India T20I record

Birmingham, Sep 8: Virat Kohli has overtaken Yuvraj Singh as India's leading run scorer in Twenty20 Internationals.

Kohli went past Yuvraj yesterday (September 7) during his half century against England at Edgbaston. Kohli scored 66 off 41 balls with 9 fours and 1 six.

T20Is: Kohli surpasses Yuvraj

The 25-year-old ended in a losing cause on Sunday. Kohli now has 972 runs in 28 matches (26 innings). He is four runs ahead of Yuvraj Singh (968 in 40 matches - 37 innings).

The third on the list is Suresh Raina with 947 runs from 38 innings. Raina is followed by Gautam Gambhir and captain MS Dhoni.

Kohli made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka in Dambulla on August 18, 2010.
