Bangalore, Sep 25: A biopic on Indian captain MS Dhoni is set to release next year, the poster of which was shared by Dhoni's wife Sakshi today on Twitter.
Sakshi tweeted the movie poster and wrote, "Clearing out all those rumours being carried out past few days.It was all false.. Here you go ....BOOM !!!."
The name of the movie is "MS Dhoni - The Untold Story".
According to the poster, Sushant Singh Rajput will play the role of Indian skipper and the biopic will be directed by Neeraj Pandey.
Earlier this month, there were reports that Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had stopped the movie stating that it cannot be released till Dhoni retires from the game.
"MSD has no choice but to comply," an unnamed friend of Dhoni was quoted by "Mumbai Mirror" when asked about BCCI stopping the film.
"To begin with, it was not a commercially viable project because a sports drama, even on a game as popular as cricket, has a niche audience. But the real roadblock came from BCCI. If we do go ahead with the film it will only happen after MSD's career on the field has come to an end," added the friend.
Also, reports said Dhoni had demanded Rs 40 crores for the rights to make a film on his life.
Now, questions will be raised whether Dhoni is retiring in 2015? or BCCI has given the green signal for the movie to hit the screens next year.
