Shami ruled out of Sri Lanka ODIs, Kulkarni called up

Mumbai, Oct 27: Indian paceman Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the ODI series against Sri Lanka due to an injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced today.

Shami, who was named in the squad for the frist three matches of the five-match series, which starts on November 2, will be replaced by Mumbai's fast bowler Dhawal Kulkarni. However, BCCI did not mention what was the injury to Shami.

"Md. Shami has been ruled out of the Micromax Cup India vs Sri Lanka ODI Series 2014, due to injury. The All - India Senior Selection Committee has named Dhawal Kulkarni as Shami's replacement in the Indian team for the first 3 ODIs of the upcoming series," BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said in a media release on Monday.
