India Test squad selection postponed; Binny replaces Aaron for ODIs

Mumbai, Nov 4: All-rounder Stuart Binny was today named in the Indian ODI squad, in place of the injured Varun Aaron for the second and third matches against Sri Lanka in the ongoing series.

Paceman Aaron injured his right leg during the first ODI in Cuttack on Sunday (November 2). Aaron was out of the attack after bowling just 4.1 overs. The second ODI is in Ahmedabad on November 6 (Thursday) and the third on November 9 (Sunday) in Hyderabad.

"Varun Aaron is injured, and he has been replaced by Stuart Binny in the Indian team for the second and third games of the Micromax Cup India vs Sri Lanka ODI Series 2014," BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said in a media release today.

The selection meeting to pick Test squad for Australia and the remaining two ODIs against Sri Lanka, has been postponed. The Sandeep Patil-led panel was scheduled to name the Test squad today.

"The meeting of the All-India Senior Selection Committee to pick the Indian team for the last two ODIs of the ongoing series, and the side for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia, has been postponed," Patel said.
