Hyderabad, Nov 8: Karnataka players were shocked to see cockroaches in their breakfast served by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) during the South Zone leg of the Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day tournament.
The incident happened yesterday (November 7) when one of the players was shocked to see dead cockroaches in one of the food containers kept for breakfast.
Karnataka played Andhra yesterday (Subbaiah Pillai Trophy) in Secunderabad and won by 134 runs. Dead cockroaches were found along with a rice dish served to the players.
BCCI match referee Anand Sharma was around at the breafast table at the ground and captured the images of the coackroaches on his mobile phone, according to media reports.
A Karnataka team official, on condition of anonymity, confirmed the news to ThatsCricket today.
Later, fresh breakfast was served to the players before they headed for the match. However, one of the players, who spotted the cockroaches, decided to skip breakfast and play on an empty stomach.
