Ganguly allays any fears on his availability for opener
Saturday, February 8 2003 17:36 Hrs (IST)

Cape Town: Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly has a mild fever but he will play in the opening game against the Netherlands on Wednesday. Ganguly on Saturday allayed any fears on his availability for the match saying he would definitely be ready ahead of the game in Paarl.

"There is nothing to worry about. I am certainly in the starting line-up for our first game," he said. Team's media manager Amrit Mathur confirmed Ganguly had mild fever but added in the same breath that it was nothing to "get worked up about".

"I would say you don't even report it," Mathur said. "He just needs rest and he would be alright." Ganguly on Saturday attended the meeting of captains and managers of all the 14 teams to discuss tournament rules.
