Wednesday, March 12 2003 17:40 Hrs (IST)

Kolkata: Indian cricket's first lady Dona Ganguly was as yet undecided about flying out to South Africa to join husband Saurav who is leading India's charge in the World Cup.

"I have still not finalised my plans," Dona told on Wednesday.

Speculation has been rife since India made it to the Super Six stage about when the wives of India's leading cricketers would reach South Africa to be by the side of their husbands.

The Indian Cricket Board had said the players' wives would be allowed to join only after the team reached the Super Six stage.

So far, only the spouses of Ajit Agarkar and Sanjay Bangar have joined their men in South Africa.

Saurav has been in constant touch with his wife and other family members over phone since landing in South Africa.

"There are several chores, which wives can manage better than us."

The dashing left-hander has been in constant touch with his wife and other family members over phone since landing in South Africa.

"I speak to him regularly. He called me up last night also," Dona, an Odissi danseuse, said.
