McGrath rubs salt in to South African misery
Friday, March 14 2003 18:45 Hrs (IST)

Durban: Australian paceman Glenn McGrath ensured sporting relations between the world champions and South Africa turned a little more bitter on Friday when he told the hosts not to take cricket so seriously.

"I think that was South Africa's problem, they didn't seem to be enjoying their cricket as much as other teams," said McGrath ahead of his team's last Super Six match against Kenya on Saturday.

"If you go out there and enjoy yourself, everything else will take care of itself. If you are not enjoying it, then you're putting too much pressure on yourself.

"I am sure most people would have laughed if you'd said Kenya would make the semi- finals, but it shows that if you go out there and have some fun, you don't know what you're capable of," the bowler told the Johannesburg Star.

"The Kenyans are jumping around and loving every minute of it and that's true of most of the other teams here that are coming through."
