Allahabad: Security around cricketer Mohammed Kaif's house was further strengthened on Tuesday, with 10 men of the Provinical Armed Constabulary (PAC) and a sub- inspector being deployed by the district administration.

The PAC personnel and the sub-inspector will be in addition to the two security guards who have been put on a round-the-clock duty outside the house, Senior Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar said.

The two security guards were posted after Kaif's house, in Kydganj locality, was vandalised on Sunday by irate fans, disappointed at India's performance in the first two matches in the World Cup.

The front wall of the house was disfigured by black paint and used mobil oil by some miscreants. The SSP has also directed the Kydganj police station in- charge S Umesh Pandey to conduct a probe into vandalisation of Kaif's house and submit a report to him at the earliest.

Kaif's parents had lodged a complaint with the local police following Sunday's incident besides demanding security cover.
