Ranchi: An unprecedented security ring has been thrown around Keenan stadium in Jamshedpur where the first of the One-day series matches between India and West Indies begins on Wednesday. "Even the bus carrying the cricketers will be escorted by two vehicles of the security forces led by a DSP," IG (zonal) Rajeev Kumar said on Monday. "I am leaving for Jamshedpur just now to double check the arrangements," he said. The Indian cricket team would arrive at Birsa airport from where the players would drive straight to the steel city by road. As many as 175 police officers would supervise the personnel drafted from 11 districts of the state to keep a close vigil during the match, the IG said. Mounted police and metal detectors would also be used. Tata Iron and Steel Company (TISCO), he said, has put in the services of a dog squad to supplement "our efforts", he said.
